Mark Kastan
Former Emerging Telecom Equity Research Analyst at Credit Suisse
Mr. Kastan is currently a private investor in the Telecommunications, Energy and Natural Resource sectors. Mr. Kastan spent 17 years as an Equity Research Analyst, highlighted by 9 years covering emerging telecommunications companies at Credit Suisse First Boston and Merrill Lynch. He is widely recognized for his coverage of the competitive local exchange carriers (“CLECs”), and as a leader in the development of the financial modeling techniques that would become the industry standard for analyzing and valuing CLECs.
Consistently ranked as one of the top CLEC Analysts on Wall Street, Mr. Kastan was the lead Research Analyst on many notable initial public offerings in the CLEC sector. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Kastan was named a Runner-Up in the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team. The Greenwich Associates Annual Analyst Survey recognized him as the #2 CLEC Analyst for 2001 and the #3 CLEC Analyst for 2000. Mr. Kastan holds an MBA from the Simon School at the University of Rochester and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Washington University.
